Vans 'Coast 2 Coast'

Jul 2022 by Route One

It's no secret that Vans supports skateboarding. Whilst the brand may have initially been founded as a boating shoe company back in 1966, its involvement in skateboarding stretches back nearly 50 years and now, in 2022, it spreads its wings far and wide, supporting all manner of initiatives and facilitating no end of rad skateboarding.

From big money pro epics Propeller & No Other Way, through female skate releases like Shari White's magnificent Credits or global productions such as Nice To See You, all the way to region centric pieces like Much Quiet or Nusantra, Vans is putting their money where their mouth is by allowing skateboarders to curate their own stories and, in the process, furnish us with no end of audio-visual riches.

The latest video for us to devour is the very first Vans Japan Skate Team full length Coast 2 Coast. As you know, unless you've been asleep for the last three or four years, the Japanese invasion has all but taken over the top tier of US skateboarding so it's great to be able to witness some up and coming names that are no doubt going to explode over the industry in the coming months and years. We don't know what they're putting in the water over there but Japanese skaters are killing it right now and Coast 2 Coast is yet another great example of that, all facilitated by those good folk at Vans.
